Melissa Affolter
Melissa is a writer, researcher, and editor with more than twenty years' experience in counseling/discipleship within church and community settings. She earned her undergrad degree in History, with emphasis on Northern Africa and the Reformation. She previously worked as a teacher/curriculum writer.
She completed her master’s degree in Biblical Counseling in 2011, advanced trauma training through the Global Trauma Recovery Institute and the Christian Trauma Healing Network. In 2015, she founded a nonprofit counseling organization in Florida. She joined Fieldstone Counseling in 2019 and relocated to Ohio in 2020, where she serves as a Senior Counselor and Content and Equipping Director. Her work focuses on walking alongside individuals seeking clarity and hope amid trauma, pain, and overwhelm.
She has contributed to PeaceWorks and the ERLC and is the creator of ReStoried, a support group for women who have experienced abuse and trauma.
